About The Event
St. Francis De Sales School, Guwahati, hosted SFS Synergia 2.0, a vibrant two-day inter-school fest on 27 and 28 August 2026, bringing together students from schools across Guwahati and the surrounding region. The fest provided a dynamic platform for young minds to showcase their talents, creativity, knowledge, technological skills and competitive spirit.
With a diverse range of competitions covering academics, debate, entrepreneurship, creativity, technology and esports, Synergia 2.0 encouraged students to learn, collaborate, compete and express themselves beyond the classroom. The fest witnessed enthusiastic participation from several reputed schools across Guwahati, including Army Public School, Delhi Public School Khanapara, Don Bosco School, Gurukul Grammar Senior Secondary School, Guwahati Public School, Happy Child Higher Secondary School, Heritage Public School, Holy Child School, Little Flower School, Vandya International School, Maharishi Vidya Mandir 3, Royal Global School, Modern High School, Sai Vikash Vidya Niketan, St. Anthony’s School, Maria’s Public School, Miles Bronson Residential School, The Green School International, Sarala Birla Gyan Jyoti and Saint Francis D’Assisi High School, among others.
A Grand Beginning
The fest commenced on 27 August 2026 at Mermier Hall with the Opening Ceremony. The programme began with a prayer and a welcome address by the Principal, Rev. Fr. Melvin Parambukattil, followed by the felicitation of the Chief Guest, the Provincial MSFS Guwahati Province, Rev. Fr. George Thomas. The opening ceremony also featured a vibrant dance presentation by SFS students inspired by Chinese Mythology, an address by the Chief Guest and the School Anthem.
The opening ceremony set the tone for the two-day celebration, as participating students proceeded to their respective venues to take part in the various competitions.
A Spectrum of Competitions
Synergia 2.0 featured competitions such as Spell Bee Quiz Showdown, Maths-Science Master, ThreadX: Fashion Innovista, Illustration & Photography, Event Videography, Robotics Challenge, Coding Champions, Debate, Startup Pitching & Marketing Plan and multiple esports categories, including BGMI, CODM, Mobile Legends and Valorant.
The wide-ranging events provided students with opportunities to demonstrate analytical thinking, communication skills, innovation, artistic expression, teamwork and digital proficiency. The participation records also reflect students from different age groups and schools coming together in the spirit of healthy competition.
Celebrating Achievement
A special highlight of the fest was Maria’s Public School retaining the Champion School title for the second consecutive year, marking another successful Synergia campaign for the school. The fest also saw students from participating schools earn recognition across the different competitive categories, with individual and team performances adding to the excitement of the celebrations.

An Evening of Recognition
The first day concluded with a prize distribution ceremony at Mermier Hall. The programme included a special song performance by Nancy B. Sawkmie, an address by the Principal and the presentation of prizes to the day's winners, followed by a vote of thanks and photo session.
A Memorable Finale
The second day culminated in the Closing Ceremony held at the SFS Assembly Ground on 28 August 2026. The ceremony featured a performance by the SFS Music Band, an address by the Principal, felicitation of the Chief Guest and an inspiring address by Chief Guest Ms. Deeplina Deka, followed by musical and dance performances by SFS students.
The cultural segment included a Semi-Classical Dance Performance and “Honouring the King of Pop”, a special presentation inspired by Michael Jackson. The ceremony then moved into the much-awaited Prize Distribution, where winners across the various competitions were honoured.
The Best School Award was also presented during the closing ceremony, marking a fitting recognition of overall achievement at Synergia 2.0.
The two-day celebration concluded with a vote of thanks, the National Anthem presented by the SFS School Band and a photo session.
A Celebration Beyond Competition
SFS Synergia 2.0 was more than a series of competitions. It brought together students, teachers and schools on a common platform to celebrate talent, creativity, innovation, confidence and collaboration. The event provided young participants with opportunities to step forward, take on challenges, learn from one another and celebrate both achievement and participation. As the curtains came down on Synergia 2.0, the fest left behind two days of memorable performances, exciting competitions, new experiences and meaningful interactions, truly reflecting the spirit of “talent meets opportunity, creativity meets confidence.”
